The World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum 2022

The Union of Arab Chambers is organizing within the framework of the “Expo Dubai 2020”, in partnership with the League of Arab States and the Investment and Technology Promotion Office – Bahrain of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and in cooperation with the Union of Arab Banks and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), the World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum 2022, under the theme:

“Connecting Minds towards Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Investment Post COVID 19”.

In line with the existing playing fields, the WEIF 2022 will focus on addressing what is needed to be done on the level of governments, multinational organizations and the private sector to achieve Entrepreneurial and Economic Resilience post COVID 19 in the Arab Region, Africa and the World. It will also serve as a platform to connect entrepreneurs from around the world with the aim of developing partnerships and joint investments.

Accordingly, the main themes of WEIF will focus on Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Conducive Ecosystem; Inclusive Sustainable Finance; Economic Infrastructure; Education and Think tanks; Creative Entrepreneurs – Orange Economy; Trade and Heritage; Women; Technology, Digitalization and Innovation; Green and Blue Economy; and SME Coalition for Africa.

As per the below criteria, UNIDO Office in Madagascar and UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO) in Bahrain, are expected to nominate up to five (5) entrepreneurs and 2 officials from entrepreneurship support institutions and academia/universities from Madagascar.  Kindly note that all nominated entrepreneurs will have to complete the attached registration form so that the WEIF selection committee can decide on the best participation.

Selected participants will be sponsored through the BADEA sponsorship agreement currently being finalized with the Union of Arab Chambers, entailing travel, accommodation and Dubai Expo passes.

It is worth noting that due to the COVID pandemic developments and restrictions, we cannot ensure physical participation for all those who are selected. 

Entrepreneurs will be nominated based on the following criteria: 

  1. Must have an established business that has been operating for between 2 – 5 years
  2. Business sector preferably needs to be related to the sectors/themes of WEIF
    • Agribusiness / Agritech
    • Environment & Renewable Energy
    • Green and Blue Industry
    • Creative Industry – Orange Economy
    • Smart Technology & ICT
    • Education
    • Trade & Heritage – Tourism

Further to the above criteria, nominated entrepreneurs must provide a small business profile that includes the following information:

  • Brief description of products and services
  • Annual turnover
  • Number of employees
  • Year established
  • What they are looking to achieve by attending the WEIF (B2B? Investors? Improved knowledge? etc.)

Additional mandatory requirements:

  1. Passport copy with validity of at least 12 months
  2. COVID Vaccination certificate issued by the local health authorities with QR Code.
